NAPLES, FL – The entire team at Gulf Coast International Properties (GCIP), contributed to the success of local back-to-school events. Thousands of dollars and many hours of time were donated to Project Outreach and The Shelter for Abused Women.
Project Outreach organizes volunteer-based projects in the community to teach youth about giving. Having some fun before school started and the community helping the less fortunate was the theme of their back-to-school event. Director Julie Thomas spent six months preparing for the event, in partnership with Life Christian Church. This is the first year for this event where 300 backpacks filled with school supplies were given out, 25 volunteer hairdressers gave haircuts, and 10 new bikes were given away in a raffle.
The Shelter for Abused Women Back Pack Drive was a huge success again this year. This drive involved buying new backpacks, school supplies, clothing, shoes and other necessities for hundreds of children in need. Each year they assist more than 800 child victims and survivors of domestic violence through safety, intervention and support. The organization also reaches out to more than 17,000 school-age children through presentation and education programs.
