1405637688BOSTON, MA – Gibson Sotheby’s International Realty recently sold the former summer retreat of Swedish film actress and international icon, Greta Garbo, for $2,600,000. The modernist masterpiece also known as "Le Beauport" commands sweeping views of the open ocean and the entrance to Gloucester's legendary harbor. The sale of this large property included a separate contiguous oceanfront property of 1.26-acres with a carriage house and clay tennis court.

This sale marks the most expensive transaction recorded in Gloucester for over eight years and is in the top five sales in all of Essex County for 2014. The proud Connecticut-based buyer of the estate came as a result of wide high net worth exposure through the benefit of The Wall Street Journal. Additionally, Gibson Sotheby’s International Realty was able to capitalize on this spectacular publicity and has now listed a neighboring property for $1,690,000, with an abundance of activity having already followed."
