Harvey, Jr., broker associate with Telluride Properties, in Telluride, CO, has been elected President of the Colorado Realtors Land Institute, the largest association of ranch brokers in Colorado. George has been involved in rural, mesa, and ranch brokerage for 23 years in San Miguel, Montrose, Ouray and Dolores counties. The Colorado RLI meets four times a year in Grand Junction and Denver with ranch brokers from all over the state, marketing their properties and receiving education concerning water rights, mineral rights, conservation easements, and title insurance specific to the ranch brokerage business. “We have 180 plus members from all the resort areas as well as the four corners of the state,” says Harvey.The National RLI provides several one and two day land courses several times a year in Colorado for in depth ranch brokerage education on subjects such as ranch management, development of transition land, and assessment of land and ranch values, government regulations and a variety of other land and ranch specific topics.The vast majority of ranch sales are made through ranch broker networks; the largest ranch network in Colorado is the Colorado RLI.
