1390601719ATLANTA, GA – Harry Norman, REALTORS® is proud to sponsor the 43rd annual Cathedral Antiques Show and Tour of Homes beginning Sunday, Jan. 26th and running through Sunday, Feb. 2nd.

Since its inception, the Cathedral Antiques Show has raised over $4 million for Atlanta-area charitable causes. This year, all proceeds will go to Crossroads Community Ministries, whose mission is to help Atlanta’s homeless gain economic and personal self-sufficiency. Each year Crossroads assists almost 4,000 homeless individuals and families in metro Atlanta.

The Cathedral Antiques Show begins on Sunday with the First Place Passion Tour – a home tour of six charming “first places” of young professionals.

On Wednesday, the gala opening night offers attendees the opportunity to be the first to see the 2014 Antiques Show and kicks off four days of lectures, antiques, design and floral inspiration. Over two dozen carefully selected dealers of period furniture, jewelry, art, and accessories ranging from 17th-century antiques to iconic mid-century modern pieces are gathered under one roof at The Cathedral of St. Philip, 2744 Peachtree Road, NW, Atlanta, GA 30305. In addition to these dealers, the show hosts “Inspiration Avenue” and special lectures from top interior and floral designers from around the world.

“Inspiration Avenue” showcases the work of nine of Atlanta’s leading interior and floral designers in rooms created for “historical clients” such as Jackie Onassis, Winston Churchill, and Coco Chanel. Interior designers include James Farmer, Kathryn Greeley, and Barbara Heath while floral designers include Boxwoods, James Hurley and Faith Flowers.

Lectures include:

  • Bobby McAlpine and Susan Ferrier discuss their acclaimed work creating architecture and interiors of timeless warmth and beauty.
  • Spalding Nix presents “Is this Seat Taken?” – an exploration of chairs and their evolving place in culture through the ages.
  • Joyce Romanoff shares exquisite 20th and 21st century handcrafted wall coverings.
  • RHS Chelsea Flower Show five-time gold medalist Joseph Massie shares his behind the scenes perspective on the world’s most spectacular flower show.
  • Designer Kathryn Greeley discusses The Collected Tabletop, her guide to gracious hospitality.
  • Jennifer Boles of The Peak of Chic discusses her new book, In With the Old.

The week’s activities conclude with the Tour of Homes where attendees will visit five of Atlanta’s most beautiful private residences. Each home is truly a showcase of the best in interior design, architecture, and antiques.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.cathedralantiques.org and range from $20 for the Antiques Show and Inspiration Avenue to $125 for the Preview Party Gala. For more information on the Antiques Show, visit www.cathedralantiques.org.

About the Cathedral Antiques Show

Started in 1969, the Cathedral Antiques Show has grown into a festival of great antiques and decorative arts. The show is Atlanta’s oldest and most prestigious, and a major outreach project sponsored by the Episcopal Church Women of the Cathedral of St. Philip (www.stphilipscathedral.org). With the help of hundreds of volunteers, devoted leadership and support from the church, antique dealers and event sponsors, the Antiques Show and its Tour of Homes have raised over $4 million for Atlanta-area charitable causes that might not otherwise get the funds or exposure this event provides. The Show is held at the Cathedral of St. Philip, 2744 Peachtree Road, Atlanta, GA, 30305. www.cathedralantiques.org.

About Crossroads

Crossroads Community Ministries began 40 years ago when a homeless man was handed a sandwich and has evolved into a comprehensive outreach program, serving as a primary first stop for Atlanta’s homeless individuals and families. The organization is focused on ending homelessness through a range of structured services designed to empower people who are homeless to progress on the road toward economic and personal self-sufficiency. In 2013 alone, Crossroads served nearly 4,000 homeless individuals, 14 percent of whom were children. www.crossroadsatlanta.org.
