Strong sales indicative of a continued “hot” Colorado Mountain housing marketAvon, CO (February 26, 2007) –Slifer Smith & Frampton, the Vail Valley’s premier real estate firm, is pleased to announce record sales months for the company with more than $380 million in sales during the month of January. The sales were written in Eagle and Summit Counties , and included a single home sales record in Bachelor Gulch for a home that sold for over $14 million.Slifer Smith and Frampton’s Eagle County division had a record breaking $336 million in new written sales and the Summit County division had $45 million. These are both the highest volume of new written sales for a single month in each county for Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate.“Both Eagle and Summit Counties are continuing to maintain a record pace for real estate sales, a pace that began more than two years ago,” said Jim Flaum President and Managing Broker of Slifer Smith & Frampton. “Obviously, we’re very proud of our company and our team, but all of us understand that experiencing the mountain lifestyle is now more desirable than ever. With quality development happening throughout Summit County and the Vail Valley , as well as amenities and service that can’t be beat anywhere in the world, the Colorado high country continues to be a choice destination for people throughout the world.”During the past two fiscal years, Slifer Smith & Frampton has exceeded the $1 billion mark for real estate sales, far surpassing sales totals in previous years. Sales activity has been strong throughout Eagle and Summit County during the time period.“The market is quite healthy across all price ranges and people are actively purchasing primary and vacation homes throughout both counties,” said Flaum. As a result of record setting sales, Flaum also points out that available inventory is beginning to level off. Slifer Smith & Frampton reports show that there are approximately 930 available residential listings today in the Vail Valley and 908 in Summit County . “Because the focus is on quality development in the mountains – as it should be – there simply isn’t as much land left to build on in mountain resorts, and the land that is available must go through a very difficult entitlement process before development can begin,” said Flaum. “This is impacting the numbers of properties that are available now, or in the future.”Slifer Smith & Frampton has been the most trusted name in Colorado real estate for over 40 years.
