Zephyr Real Estate Agent Darryl Honda Appointed to Board of Appeals
Posted by Melody Foster — February 11, 2013
San Francisco, CA– Darryl Honda was appointed to the position of Commissioner on San Francisco’s Board of Appeals by Mayor Edwin Lee on December 4, 2012.
The Board of Appeals provides the public with a final administrative review process for appeals relating to a wide range of City determinations. Originally created under the Charter of 1932, the Board provides an efficient, fair and expeditious public hearing and decision-making process before an impartial panel as a last step in the City's permit issuance process. The Board hears and decides appeals involving the granting, denial, suspension, or revocation of permits, licenses, and other use entitlements by various City commissions and departments.
Honda, one of five commissioners on the Board, is the first Realtor to be appointed to this prestigious position. He is a native Californian who has lived in San Francisco for over 35 years, attending school and working in a wide range of San Francisco neighborhoods. He is a Realtor with over 14 years of experience, currently working with Zephyr Real Estate. Previously, he owned and operated a small business for over 15 years in San Francisco’s Sunset District. He is proud of his family’s multicultural heritage, which includes his maternal grandfather who emigrated from the Philippines and worked as a migrant field worker in California, and his paternal grandfather whose family emigrated from Hiroshima, Japan, to farm on the Big Island of Hawaii. Honda’s many civic activities include being a founding member of the Westside Chinese Democratic Club and serving for nine years as an appointed board member of the California State Assistance Fund for Enterprise, Business and Industrial Development Corporation (SAFE-BIDCO). He attended the Academy of Art College and San Francisco Community College.
“I am honored to be able to serve the City I know and love,” commented Honda, “and I look forward to helping my fellow commissioners make a difference in San Francisco.”
A regular top sales agent at Zephyr, Honda partners with Sabrina Gee-Shin, and almost all their business stems from referrals or repeat business from their loyal following of clients. Their team dynamic provides a seamless, drama-free experience for both buyers and sellers. Honda is also a skilled negotiator in commercial sales and business opportunities.
“Zephyr is proud to note that yet another of our exemplary agents is serving our fine City,” commented Randall Kostick, Chief Operating Officer of Zephyr Real Estate. “I know Darryl will contribute above and beyond as he serves on the Board of Appeals.”
