Cold Spring Harbor, NY - Daniel Gale Sotheby's International Realty (DGSIR), one of the nation's leading realtors, successfully brokered and yesterday closed the sale of Whitewood Point, a magnificent waterfront estate set on 54+-acres. Located in Lloyd Harbor, New York, the property was both listed and sold by Daniel Gale Sotheby's agents.
"It's a tribute to both our outstanding sales professionals and tremendous marketing programs that Daniel Gale Sotheby's handled both sides of the transaction," remarked DGSIR President and CEO Patricia Petersen. "We are very pleased we were able to bring both the buyer and the seller to the table."
Whitewood Point's centerpiece 18-room brick colonial, attributed to the celebrated architect Stanford White (McKim, Mead and White) is set atop a bluff on close to 55 acres of pristine woods with its own 2,600-foot protected sandy beach and expansive views west over Cold Spring Harbor and Long Island Sound.
"Whitewood Point is truly a spectacular property that requires a certain kind of buyer, so an extensive marketing program that reached a global audience was a necessity," said DGSIR agent Laura Zambratto, who co-listed the property with Margy Hargraves, also of Daniel Gale Sotheby's. Carol Tintle, who throughout her real estate career with Daniel Gale Sotheby's has achieved success working with large land tract transactions, found the ideal buyer.
The listing agents utilized the power of both Daniel Gale Sotheby's and the larger Sotheby's organization to market the property domestically and abroad, including highly targeted advertising, the launch of www.whitewoodpoint.com to showcase the property, and provide global distribution of the listing information and property brochure through www.sothebysrealty.com and throughout the entire Sotheby's network, including its auction houses. They also co-hosted a reception at the home with Sotheby's, further exposing the estate to an exclusive audience of realtors and clients. "It's a testament to the power of Daniel Gale Sotheby's marketing and client base that while we had inquires and showings with qualified buyers from around the country and the globe, one of our own agents brought the buyer," Ms. Zambratto added.
Over the years Daniel Gale Sotheby's has listed and sold several of Long Island's most notable properties, including the 145-acre Kirby Hill estate in Muttontown, as well as Knole, a historic Old Westbury mansion and Land's End in Sands Point.
