1348512380Pleasanton, CA – September 18, 2012 – Better Homes and Gardens Mason-McDuffie Real Estate, the oldest largest continually operating residential real estate company west of the Mississippi, hosted their 2012 Sales Rally, themed Innovate & Celebrate on Thursday, September 13, at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco. The event attracted more than 550 of their sales associates, employees and managers, in addition to partners, sponsors and speakers.

“This was a day of learning, celebration, and coming together for our company,” said Kathy Ollerton, Vice Chair of the company. “In this ever changing market, we wanted to motivate and inspire our agents.”

The Rally provided a mix of educational and motivational speakers and activities for its agents. It was also an opportunity for the company to showcase its agents’ community outreach during 2012. Ollerton presented The Children’s Village with a check for $75,000 on behalf of the company, which raised the funds through a Poker Tournament it hosted recently. Children’s Village provides stable multi-generational family homes for children and their siblings in foster care.

Speakers included Mark Wellman, author of Climbing Back, an inspirational account of his assent of El Capitan and Half Dome in Yosemite National Park after a freak accident on his descent of the Seven Gables left him paralyzed from the waist down in 1982.

Debbie Allen, International Business Speaker, Bestselling Author of Confessions of Shameless Self Promoters, gave straight talk about how to maximize opportunities and build shameless success with the power of persuasion and the art of professional promotion and personal branding.

Keith Krach, CEO of DocuSign, spoke about taking chances in his career and lessons he learned along the way in his speech ‘Jump in the Water over your Head.’

The rally also included a 125th Anniversary celebration and acknowledgement of our sales agents and their longevity in the company – acknowledging more than 50 people who have been with the company for over twenty years.
