"It did not surprise me when the family decided to give such a sizable donation to CROW. They are huge animal lovers and have tremendous respect for CROW's initiatives and efforts," said Don DeLuca, Vice President & General Counsel of the Roberts various corporations.

The Roberts' have consistently provided support to various community causes such as Blessings in a Backpack, PURRE, CROW, Fish, Big Arts, Make a Wish Foundation, American Cancer Society, Sanibel School and the Children's Center and Hope Hospice. "The Family has always been community minded and big supporters of many causes. They are extremely generous people and make a point of sharing their business success by generously giving back," said DeLuca.

Steve Greenstein, the Executive Director of CROW had this to say; "All of us at CROW are deeply touched by the generous donation from the Roberts Family and Royal Shell. We are in the midst of a very busy baby season and the funds will be used for patient care including food, diagnostics, surgical treatments, pharmaceuticals and cage repairs. With over 450 patients having been admitted over the past month, our staff, students and volunteers are working hard together to rehabilitate and release as many of those patients as possible. This wonderful donation will make a huge difference in the lives of the patients we save and in the lives of our people who are passionate, dedicated and committed to saving those lives. On behalf of our entire organization and especially on behalf of our patients, I would like to say thank you for this investment in the future of our wildlife friends and neighbors."

Michael Polly, Vice President of Real Estate Operations for Royal Shell Real Estate said, “When we first moved to southwest Florida we found an injured Pelican. We called CROW and were instructed on how to safely capture the bird. We took it to CROW and there they nursed it back to good health. It was then released back into the wild. I think of this when I drive the causeway and have a Pelican as my wingman gliding alongside. Being able to support CROW in this manner ensures that our future visitors enjoy the many animal residents that are such a big part of our way of life.”
