Laurie Ann Goldman, along with Jim Durrett, Executive Director of the Buckhead Community Improvement District, talked business with Harry Norman, REALTORS® Senior Marketing Consultants and the Young REALTORS® Council at their annual summer luncheon.
Goldman discussed her career path in-depth and how she got to where she is today, encouraging everyone to ask themselves, “Am I doing what I love? Am I getting what I need? What do I hear from those around me—am I listening? And what can I give back to those near me and my community?” Asking herself these questions daily helped her get to a place where she is doing what she loves and is able to give back to the community.
Durrett spoke on the transportation referendum and the penny tax vote occurring on July 31. There was heavy discussion about the tax, and the benefits to homeowners it could provide such as better roads, less traffic and improved access to areas throughout metro Atlanta.
Harry Norman’s top agents are in an elite group titled Senior Marketing Consultants (SMC). These agents are distinguished through exemplary achievements in real estate, having a thorough knowledge of marketing, contract negotiations and finance. Agents must produce a particular gross commission income or close a minimum number of transactions in which Harry Norman and the associate receive a commission during the qualifying year to be considered for an SMC position. There are currently 232 SMCs in the company, which currently has close to 1,000 agents.
Each year, Harry Norman treats the SMCs to a summer luncheon to thank them for their hard work and dedication to the company. This year, Harry Norman’s own Young REALTORS® Council (YRC) was invited to join as well.
The YRC was established in 2005 and includes all company sales associates 40 years of age and under. The primary purpose of the council is to bring agents together for educational, philanthropic and social networking functions. Lindsey Chaney, YRC Chairwoman, says, “Our SMC/YRC joint event was a huge success and we were thrilled to be with such a distinguished group of Harry Norman agents. Currently, there are 20 YRCs that are also SMCs, and we hope to see that number improve each year.”
