1336168907RUMSON: Resources Real Estate is making its true colors known with its all-company participation in Paint the Town Pink, Riverview Medical Center’s annual event to raise breast cancer awareness. The agents in each of the company’s offices in Rumson and Monmouth Beach, have created a display in support of the event and are encouraging members of the public to vote for their office display on Facebook (www.facebook.com/resourcesrealestate.nj).

Resources has always been committed to being a true community member and this is a very visual way to demonstrate that,” said Carolynn Ozar Diakon, broker owner of the company. “We have such a spirited group of agents who have embraced the challenge and we love what they came up with.”

1336168941The Rumson office display (located at 112 E River Road, Rumson) has a “Survival” theme with a gallery of photos on display of women who have beat breast cancer. Decorated with bright pink accents and a banner declaring “I Pink I Can!”, the display’s most surprising feature to passersby is a woman on the roof. “Pinky” (a mannequin) is wearing a “Paint the Town Pink” cap, carrying two shopping totes with the event’s logo, and sports a “Save the Tata’s” tank top. She’s standing next to a giant pink awareness ribbon. Subtle, it’s not.

“We wanted to do something attention-getting because the event is all about raising awareness,” said Allison Gregory, sales associate and Rumson office team captain for the event. “We figured the best way to do that was to get people talking.”

1336169057The Monmouth Beach office (located at 36 Beach Road, Monmouth Beach) has a theme of “No Excuses: Early detection is the best prevention.” Given the office’s proximity to the beach (just a few blocks away) the design includes beach paraphernalia like a pink inner tube, beach chairs & boogie board, pink balloons and sea shells. It’s perhaps best seen at night when the whole office is aglow with pink light from both outside and within.

“The display is meant to be fun but with a real message,” said Dennis Soboti, sales associate and Monmouth Beach office team captain. “We want people to enjoy it but more than anything we want them to take action and get screened or encourage others to have their annual exam.”

The displays, which will remain in place for the entire event (thru May 12th) and perhaps longer, are only one part of the fun. Some of the other events planned by the company include:

  • Live events on Saturday, May 5th where passersby at both offices will be encouraged to donate money, pledge to have a mammography screening or commit to raise awareness.
  • Open houses on Sunday, May 6th at participating listings will be “pink’d” with pink balloons distributed to attendees. (See FB for locations.)
  • Resources’ clients in the participating “Pink” towns will have pink ribbons displayed on their property signs
  • Listing clients have been invited to “Pink” their house as part of the overall event and will receive a pink t-shirt if they participate.

Resources’ team of agents is truly a wonderful group of caring and hardworking people,” said Thomas McCormack, broker and Diakon’s business partner. “Whether it’s in their real estate endeavors or their being active members of the community they’re creative, thoughtful and committed… we’re fortunate to have them as part of our company.”

Diakon opened Resources Real Estate, a full service real estate company in 2000. McCormack joined her as co-owner in 2010.
