The exhibition opened April 28th and is organized thematically juxtaposing objects, images, and texts with interactive displays and films. “The Ventana Canyon House is one of just a few homes selected to be featured in a large-scale Welcome Home film produced by Local Projects, which is in its own gallery in the exhibition,” said Sarah Leavitt, curator at the National Building Museum.
“We liked several features of the home, including its regional location in the Southwest and the way he (architect Rick Joy) used materials and structure to fit in with the local environment and the particular setting of the house. We loved the way the house interacted with the landscape and the opportunity to film a house at this scale was really appealing,” Leavitt continued.
