Luxury Real Estate Holds 10th Annual Spring Retreat in New Orleans, Honors Eleanor Farnsworth

1335911121The 10th Annual Luxury Real Estate Spring Retreat was recently held Tuesday, April 24th to Friday April 27th, at the Omni Royal Orleans. The Featured Speaker was Julia Reed, author and contributing editor at Elle Décor and Garden & Gun Magazine, where she writes a regular column. She also contributes to the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and Conde Nast Traveler,. She is a frequent guest on msnbc and CNN. Reed began her career at Newsweek Magazine and for 20 years, she was a contributing editor at Vogue. She is the author of “The House on First Street, My New Orleans Story”.

The conference was hosted by John Brian Losh, Chairman/Publisher of Luxury Real Estate, (LuxuryRealEstate.com and Who’s Who in Luxury Real Estate), a membership-driven luxury brokerage assemblage based in Seattle, Washington. The network includes hundreds of the most prominent global luxury brokers and meets three times each year, nationally and internationally, to discuss current real estate trends.

One of the highlights of the conference was the volunteer day to give back to the New Orleans community through Brad Pitt’s charity the Make It Right Foundation. Volunteers had a tour of the Make It Right homes and project, and then spent the day laying sod. Other attendees took a tour of the historic Garden District to view for-sale luxury real estate, including the finest home in New Orleans, 1415 Third Street.

Discussions at the conference covered multiple topics relevant to leaders in the luxury real estate industry. Sessions included ‘Expanding Your Luxury Business from the Inside Out’ (as well as personal coaching) by Liz Christoffersen, a best-practices panel of past Award Winners (Diane Turton, Antonio Ribes Bas, Elizabeth Ann Stribling-Kivlan, John Daugherty, Tim Murray), dynamic Roundtable Discussions, ‘Communicate your Knowledge Edge to Your Clients’ (Malone Hodges), a panel on ‘Recruiting and Developing Luxury Agents’ (Bill Gamelli, John Stough, Ann Chiasson), ‘Leveraging Numbers in Real Estate’ (David Abernathy). A Luxury Property Showcase was held to discuss marketing techniques used by members for some of their top property listings. A full day of meetings for the Board of Regents followed the conference.

The presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award to Eleanor Farnsworth of Gardner, Realtors was a highlight of the event. This prestigious award is given to Luxury Real Estate members who set an example for the real estate industry and display excellence throughout their career. “Eleanor is an icon in New Orleans luxury real estate and a pillar of the community, in addition to being a friend of 25 years,” states John Brian Losh. “We are honored to give her this award”.
