SAVANNAH, Ga. – Tom Booth recently joined luxury real estate marketer Cora Bett Thomas Realty, an exclusive affiliate of Christie’s Great Estates, as a sales associate. In this role, Booth will ensure that the process of buying and selling homes goes as smoothly as possible for his clients. “My job technically might be to help clients buy and sell their homes,” Booth said. “But to do that effectively, I also have to stay current and up-to-date on Savannah’s housing market and study and understand national housing trends as well.” Turning to a career in real estate may seem like a leap from Booth’s last job as the program director for Morningstar Treatment Services, Inc., a residential treatment center for emotionally and behaviorally disturbed children and adolescents in Brunswick, but his job was to ensure the happiness and well being of the patients -- the same thing he plans to do with his new clients. “Tom has a real ability to listen and to be responsive to client needs,” said Cora Bett Thomas, founder and CEO of Cora Bett Thomas Realty. “His insight and expertise will make him an excellent sales associate. I’m thrilled that he has joined our award-winning sales team and know that he will go far.” Booth has always had a strong desire to help families in need. Before Morningstar, Booth worked as a live-in behavioral specialist and then cottage supervisor at Hillside Hospital in Atlanta. Hillside specializes in working with and treating the most severely emotionally and behaviorally disturbed children in Georgia. Before that, he interned as a marriage and family therapist at The Assistance League of Southern California in Los Angeles. In that job, Booth conducted pre-marital counseling, facilitated group therapy, counseled teenagers that were struggling with leaving gangs and helped build an outreach program that provided counseling to middle school students that were struggling in class. A 1990 graduate of Savannah Christian Preparatory School in Savannah, Booth received his bachelor of science degree in Psychology from the College of Charleston in Charleston, S.C. in 1995. He then went on to earn a master's degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy from Pepperdine University in Malibu, Calif. in 1998. Booth recently moved Savannah from St. Simons Island with his wife, Heather, and their one-year-old daughter, Isabelle. -more- ABOUT CORA BETT THOMAS REALTY COMPANY With listings for the area’s finest residential and commercial properties, Cora Bett Thomas Realty, is an exclusive affiliate of Christie’s Great Estates and a longtime member of Who’s Who in Luxury Real Estate, The Board of Regents, Leading Estates of the World and Leading Real Estate Companies of the World (formerly RELO).
