Washington Fine Properties Announces Sale of Historic Halcyon House For $12,500,000

1331576142Washington Fine Properties is pleased to announce the sale of Halcyon House, one of the premiere estates in historic Georgetown. The listing and selling agent was Mark McFadden and the asking price was $12,500,000. Halcyon House on Prospect Street was built in 1787 by the first Secretary of the Navy, Benjamin Stoddert. The gardens were designed by Pierre L’Enfant and the home was the center of Washington’s social life for several decades. In 1900 the home was sold to the nephew of Mark Twain, Samuel Clemmons. The entire property is over 30,000 square feet and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
