PROVIDENCE, RI. (September. 1, 2006) – Residential Properties nears the completion of their Habitat for Humanity house and they are set to celebrate in a ceremony on September 9th. The company committed to sponsoring the house in Providence at 103 Putnam Street by providing financial support and labor for the project. Residential Properties is one of the few small businesses to solely undertake this project, and the only real estate company in Providence to attempt this endeavor. Residential Properties is committed to giving and this is the first house that has been sponsored by the company. This was a company-wide effort with all 8 offices participating in many different ways. "Working on this project was inspiring to everyone involved,” said Residential Properties Broker Associate Sandra Conca who conceived the project. “It points to the importance of making affordable housing available to eligible families who want to share in the American dream of home ownership.” Putnam Street has been transformed from a somewhat rundown neighborhood to one where pride of home ownership is evident on every corner. The project began in April of 2005 with house construction slated to last approximately one year. Due to the seasonal nature of real estate, as the market picked up in the springtime and agents became busier, participation dwindled during that time and extended the date of completion. Residential Properties agent John Morgan offered his 25 years of landscape design experience. "Creating the landscape for this family was a very rewarding experience. Generous donations of supplies and equipment from vendors across the state were complimented by volunteer effort from nearby neighbors and an energetic youth group from Lincoln.” Residential Properties contacted a number of other businesses in support of this project including White Fuel Oil, Adler’s Hardware and Wells Fargo. Site supervisor, David Gray, was also recruited by Residential Properties. “We’re very happy about the partnership” said Herman deKoe, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Providence. “We have said for years that the Real Estate Community needed to get involved with Habitat, as we are all working towards the same goal of providing housing. I have to commend all the Residential Properties agents, brokers, staff and their families, who came to the site every Saturday.” About Residential Properties Ltd.
