1320362914Denver, CO (November 2011) – Trish Bragg, Maggie Armstrong and Carolyn Baker, Co-Chairs of The Denver Designer Show House, are pleased to announce that the event held earlier this spring raised $75,000 for Children’s Hospital Colorado. This contribution is three times more than the original goal.

The fundraiser showcased one of Denver’s grandest homes during the month of April, after it was transformed by twenty-eight of Colorado’s most talented and respected interior designers. The designers partnered with local builders, suppliers and craftspeople to donate over $100,000 worth of time and materials in their efforts to breathe new life into the historic property. Local companies provided sponsorships as well.

Built in 1909, the Show House at 3rd Avenue and Gilpin Street has been owned by the Cowperthwaite family for over a century. It was the first house built on Gilpin Street in the prestigious Country Club neighborhood. Designed by famed Fisher and Fisher Architects, it stands as a fitting landmark to the Cowperthwaite family, which has contributed significantly to the history of Denver. The house was listed for sale by Trish Bragg and Maggie Armstrong of Fuller Sotheby’s International Realty and co-listed with Kit Cowperthwaite of Distinctive Properties. It was recently purchased.

“We’re honored that The Denver Designer Show House has chosen to support Children’s Hospital Colorado. The event is truly unique in our community and draws such a generous, spirited audience to support children and families,” said Lindsey Alexander, Senior Event Manager.

The 2011 Show House is the second event organized by this group to benefit Children’s Hospital Colorado. Please visit www.denvershowhouse.com for “before and after photos” and information on the team of people that collaborated on this project.
