Rob Thomson of Waterfront Properties Helps a Community in Need

Posted by — November 29, 2004

Rob Thomson of Waterfront Properties, Who’s Who in Luxury Real Estate and Board of Regents member, has visited the small island of Walker’s Cay since he was a young boy for fishing, diving and visiting with the locals. In recent years Thomson has passed this tradition on to his children, but due to the devastating effects of Hurricanes Frances and Jeanne earlier this year the tradition will have to be put on hold.Walker’s Cay, a small private island at the northern end of the Bahama Islands was hit extremely hard by the two hurricanes earlier this year. The once bustling tourist destination now resembles a war zone forcing the owners to sell the small island. Rob Thomson is committed to its preservation. "The island is in tough shape and needs our help, there’s no question about that," says Thomson. Thomson is working with the owners to find a buyer for the island and has set up a charity to help the people of the island in the mean time. For the whole story click Part1 / Part2To make a donation contact Rob Thomson at 561-746-7272.
