Zephyr Real Estate Launches Poll for San Francisco Calendar Theme

Favorite

1300212019San Francisco, CA – March 14, 2011 – Since 1993, Zephyr Real Estate has produced an annual calendar for distribution to more than 10,000 clients each year. This year, for the first time ever, Zephyr is inviting the public to vote on the theme for the 2012 calendar.

Zephyr clients look forward to receiving their calendars each year as they have consistently featured some wonderful insider perspectives on San Francisco. Rigorously researched past themes have highlighted San Francisco firsts, foods invented in the city, influential writers, famous and infamous neighborhoods and beloved animals of the City by the Bay. The calendars are illustrated with striking watercolors of signature properties where Zephyr represented either the buyer or seller.

The public is invited to visit Zephyr's Facebook page to vote for their favorite theme for 2012. Additionally, visitors may offer their own theme ideas as well.

The current 2011 calendar is all about iconic movies filmed in San Francisco, from Bullitt and its groundbreaking chase scene to Milk and the historical, influential life of Harvey Milk. Each month spotlights a film set in San Francisco along with trivia and an on-location photo.

Calendars of year’s past have proven to be informative and popular as a source of who’s who and what’s what around the City. For example, along with Ghirardelli Chocolate and Rice-a-Roni, San Francisco was also the setting for the invention of Chicken Tetrazzini, as featured in the 2010 Savor San Francisco calendar. In the 2006 edition, Little Known “Firsts” included the first Murphy bed, fortune cookie and gay marriage. In 2002’s Saints and Scoundrels, Alice B. Toklas, Sun Yat-Sen and Willie Mays are featured (all saints, of course).

“The calendars are always an interesting and enjoyable project. We spend a great deal of time and effort researching our themes and gathering content, and in the process wind up learning new things about the City ourselves,” commented Melody Brown, Director of Marketing at Zephyr. “We are excited to involve clients and the public in our theme selection for 2012.”
