1292618503ASPEN — Mason Morse Real Estate and Dancing Bear Residences in Aspen are teaming up with the Shining Stars Foundation to coordinate a Holiday Toy Drive to benefit kids with cancer and their families.

This is the first ever toy drive for the Shining Stars Foundation. The toys will be given to children who spend countless hours undergoing treatment in the hospital, and their families who devote every waking hour to their child’s mental, physical and emotional well-being.

“This is a wonderful way for those of us who live in the Roaring Fork Valley to help families that are going through difficult times,” said Kathy Gingery, Shining Stars Foundation Executive Director. “Mason Morse has been instrumental in organizing and coordinating this Toy Drive.”

The Shining Stars Foundation provides year round outreach programs for children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Shining Stars last year served more than 2,200 children, family members and supporters in all, helping victims and families in 77 communities around Colorado. The number of children served has tripled over the last four years.

Mason Morse Vice-President of Marketing Kim Briscoe said the decision to work on the Toy Drive was easy for the company to make. "So many of these families are facing mounting medical bills, job loss, and challenges that affect their ability to celebrate the way so many of us are able to during the holiday season,” Briscoe said. “Donating toys for the children is a great way to make what is hopefully a meaningful difference in their lives.”
