Chase International's Mentor Program Teaches Success

(LAKE TAHOE, Nevada) - Charlene Meenan was hesitant to answer the phone when she first became a realtor four years ago. Today, at Chase International, Meenan now mentors new agents so that they will learn the ins and outs of the real estate industry and find a comfort and confidence level much quicker than she did.

"It took me a long time to be successful," Meenan said. "When I first got my license I didn't know what to do. There was no one there to help me and show me the ropes, but that's not the way it is at Chase."

Lake Tahoe-based agency Chase International is one of the nation's leading companies in luxury real estate and prides itself on the expertise and professionalism of its more than 75 agents. Meenan, who's lived in Lake Tahoe for more than ten years and has been with Chase for just a year, spends about five hours per week working with two new agents to introduce them to the real estate world. Her training involves reviewing procedures and materials to strengthen the green agents' skills and comfort level. This is her first time being a mentor.

"I love doing it. Anytime you can help someone be successful, you're successful," Meenan said. "I think some of the most important things they need to understand is that it takes a long time to be successful. It takes time to get out there and get your name known, but be patient because once you get the ball rolling, it keeps rolling."

Benét Terry has been working with Meenan since before she received her real estate license last September. She got involved with the mentor program because she was aware of the value of advice from someone who is experienced when you're just learning.

"It makes you feel secure," Terry said. "Knowing that someone else has been in your shoes is reassuring. Charlene's been great - so patient and willing to answer endless questions."

"It's an excellent program," Sue Lowe, vice president of Chase International said. "We want out agents to feel just as welcome as our clients and overall it's just been a success for everyone involved."

In addition to the mentor program, which was launched two years ago, Chase International continues to stand out in the world of real estate with its knowledgeable, professional and caring agents. Chase's latest effort into producing the industry's top agents is the Chase Academy, which began this winter. The academy differs from Chase's other professional training and development in that courses promote a dialogue between students and empower them with new ideas and accountability.

Chase International is headquartered in Lake Tahoe, Nevada since 1986 with five offices around Lake Tahoe and Truckee, a new office in Reno and one in London. The company is a longstanding exclusive member of Who's Who in Luxury Real Estate and Leading Estates of the World, was elected to the Board of Regents for luxury real estate and is an exclusive member of the Artisan Group, comprised of the Bay Area's top firms. Chase's membership in the Leading Estates of the World, the nation's largest independent relocation network (formerly RELO) further positions the company as an industry authority on luxury real estate and strengthens its client services.

Chase International also utilizes its membership opportunities in the National Association of Realtors International Division, Woman's Council of Realtors and FIABCI and the International Real Estate Federation (an international network of 7,000 real estate professionals, attorneys, accountants, banks and related services).
