1288106779William Raveis Real Estate recently kicked off a company-wide endeavor to support those fighting breast cancer. This year marks the 6th anniversary of the William Raveis Charitable Fund, created to support this important cause. Sales associates and staff throughout the northeast are embracing all things pink by selling pink raffle tickets at carnivals, sporting events, shopping centers, in front of their offices and in front of grocery stores. And this year, William Raveis has found special inspiration from a young high school student who has made the cause viral through a touching youtube video.

Bonnie Deal, 16 year –old granddaughter of former William Raveis President and Director of The William Raveis Charitable Fund, Carolyn Deal, created a poignant youtube video featuring individuals touched by the disease. Her simple, yet powerful message, entitled “Dear Breast Cancer,” is conveyed through pink flashcards that reflect on the disease’s reach and the importance of support from patients’ family and friends. The video can be viewed here.

In addition to the awareness hoped to be spread by Bonnie’s video, William Raveis looks to exceed funds raised last year through the sale of raffle tickets as well as other company-initiated events. The monies raised by the company will benefit the William Raveis American Cancer Society Navigator Care Program at the University of Connecticut Heath Center, Farmington, CT and the American Cancer Society/Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Patient Navigator Program. These programs provide guidance and support for cancer patients, their families and caregivers as they face the logistical, financial and emotional challenges of their unique cancer experience. So far, William Raveis has raised $1.3 million in support of these programs.

Company CEO and Chairman, Bill Raveis, details the impact of breast cancer, “breast cancer has touched the lives of men as well as women. About 1% of all breast cancers occur among men. The William Raveis Charitable Fund is something that is helping those impacted right now. It is positively impacting patients and their families.”
