1287158580Huntington, NY.October 12, 2010. Daniel Gale Sotheby's International Realty (DGSIR), one of the nation's leading realtors, recently unveiled an exciting agent-led program designed to maximize coaching, mentoring, information sharing and earnings potential throughout the organization.

When President and CEO Patricia Petersen made this announcement, she was quick to give credit to the agents for the program's development. "This grass roots initiative developed from the realization that while our organization has an excellent and ongoing agent training program in place, it is difficult for a formal program to keep up with the changes and challenges specific to the market of each branch office. When you look at the industry as a whole, there's very little comprehensive ongoing agent training at the branch office level. And we're determined to step outside that norm. As the market challenges fluctuate, so does the need to stay on top of these changes. Daniel Gale Sotheby's coaching and mentoring program has been specifically designed to create centers of learning at our branch offices."

1287158393Two highly experienced agents, Debra Petkanas and Deborah Hauser have been named Directors of the program. Both Directors have achieved high levels of success throughout their careers despite the fluctuations of the real estate market. Together with Pat Petersen, the Directors have identified Business Development Leaders. This powerful team will support the new agent mentoring within the branch offices while offering valuable coaching to some of the company's more experienced agents throughout the company as well. The initial Business Development Leaders include Pat Bretone for Northport; Maria Boccard for Syosset; Lisa Lauricella in East Norwich; Laura Rich in Garden City and Ellen Zipes for Old Westbury. In addition to co-managing the program, Debra Petkanas will lead the mentoring and coaching efforts in Locust Valley and Old Brookville and Deborah Hauser will share her expertise in Cold Spring Harbor and Roslyn.

"The program is divided into two distinct parts," explains Ms. Petersen. "All new DGSIR agents attend a four- week comprehensive training class. This supplemental mentoring component, specifically designed for agents new to a career in real estate, or to our organization, complements that initial program and properly introduces the practical day to day aspects of real estate. The Business Development team reviews policies and procedures with the new agents and offers advice and assistance to them as they gain experience. The second part of the new program involves agent coaching, a 60-day hands-on task specific course designed to help agents address the challenges of an emerging and rapidly changing market through discussion, role play and technical support, with an end goal of helping them dramatically increase their earnings potential."
