Area’s First LEED® Home Holds Open House Aug. 28
Incline Village, Nev. (Aug. 17, 2010) – North Lake Tahoe’s first LEED®-registered home is well underway in Incline Village and eco-curious individuals and home aficionados can get a sneak-peek of the project August 28.
The Energy star-rated house, located at 1085 Mill Creek Road, broke ground in late 2009. The project is spearheaded by Jeff Miller, president of Advance Design and Construction, and K.J. Miller of Chase International, who is listing the home for sale. The event is free, open to the public and is slated for Saturday, Aug. 28 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Professional contractors and suppliers will be on hand to answer questions and give demonstrations of the latest green technologies. Displays will include home-energy monitoring and home automation; LED lighting; high-efficiency furnaces and steam humidifiers; energy-complete insulation systems; Energy Star-rated doors, windows and flooring; low/no VOC paints and stains; Solaris roofing; and on-demand hot water systems.
“This is a rare opportunity for the public to see and learn about green technologies firsthand from the professionals while the home is under construction,” said K.J. Miller.
Guests may take a LEED®-registered home treasure hunt and win prizes.
