ATLANTA, GA - July 7, 2010 - Recently, the Harry Norman, Realtors® Sandy Springs office prepared and served a home-cooked feast for the families staying at the Ronald McDonald house in Atlanta.
At the Ronald McDonald House, families can enjoy many of the comforts of home, receive nutritious meals provided by volunteers, and obtain emotional support through contact with other families, all while their child is receiving treatment at one of the local children’s hospitals.
No family is turned away and many stay at the house for weeks and sometimes months at a time.
“What a wonderful place for children and their families to escape the hospital atmosphere to a homelike setting with people who care and understand. You leave that house with far more than you ever brought,” said Helen Flynn, a sales associate with the Harry Norman, Realtors® Sandy Springs office.
Agents and staff from the Sandy Springs office put their best cooking skills together to provide a myriad of delicious, homemade dishes including sweet potato soufflé, mac-n-cheese and a succulent turkey with all the trimmings. The Thanksgiving-style dinner theme was chosen to remind us all that we have something to be thankful for year round. In addition to a monetary donation, the Sandy Spring Office of Harry Norman, Realtors has committed to preparing and serving homemade meals each quarter for 2010 and has already begun planning the dinner menu for the next visit.
