Dedicated to providing a forum to meet and network with colleagues, Women in Relocation is committed to making a positive contribution to local real estate communities. This year the group again chose to lend their support to The Bridge Fund of Westchester and New York, www.thebridgefund.org. The Bridge Fund’s mission is to assist vulnerable, working individuals and families threatened with the loss of their housing. When told that the group would have their support again this year, Lisa Buck, Director the The Bridge Fund of Westchester said, “We are extremely grateful and honored that Women in Relocationhas chosen to support us once again this year. You touched the lives and made a difference for hard-working families last year and we are very much looking forward to working with you again.”

In 2009, The Bridge Fund of Westchester County was able to aid 312 cases assisting 698 individuals of which 319 were children. The group’s achievements last year were amazing. They prevented 262 evictions, 5 foreclosures and helped 45 families move to a more affordable home. They also provided 248 families and individuals with financial literacy workshops in six Westchester communities.

Women in Relocation’s goals this year is for one hundred percent participation of all members to assist with donations and to expand their reach to members of different trade alliances such as TRS Relocation Services, Luxury Real Estate and Leading Real Estate Companies of the World. In 2010, Women in Relocation will maximize their social networking and encourage more cooperation among trade groups in supporting worthy causes.

Women in Relocation’s next event will be on September 28th, 2010. Members of The Bridge Fund present, as well as families they are assisting. The event will include a food drive for The Bridge Fund’s pantry.
