John's Island Real Estate Company Awarded Outstanding Corporate Philanthropist Award

Vero Beach, FL, November 21, 2005 – John's Island Real Estate Company and Robert Gibb, Broker/Chairman, were recently selected as the Outstanding Corporate Philanthropist winner for the 2005 National Philanthropy Day Awards. The annual award was presented by the Treasure Coast chapter of the American Association of Fundraising Professionals.

The association recognizes superior contributions in six categories. The Outstanding Corporate Philanthropist award is specified to a business that demonstrates commitment through financial support as well as through encouragement and motivation of others to take leadership roles toward philanthropy and community involvement.

Many of Indian River County’s nonprofit organizations have had John's Island Real Estate Company as a major sponsor or donor. The Company's philanthropic resume reads as a "Who's Who" among nonprofit agencies, and its chairman, Robert Gibb, has been a driving force behind many of the most successful charity agencies.

“The real thanks goes to the employees of John’s Island Real Estate Company and the residents of John’s Island. They have made it possible for us to be so generous and support our local charities,” Gibb said.

John's Island Real Estate Company's philanthropic support has benefited many organizations, including Riverside Theatre, Saint Edward's School, Indian River Hospital Foundation, The Treasure Coast Wine Festival, John’s Island Community Service League, the Environmental Learning Center and the Mental Health Association of Indian River County.

Previous recipients of the award include First National Bank & Trust, Publix Super Markets, Florida Power & Light, Northern Trust Bank and Scripps Treasure Coast Publishing Co/Scripps Treasure Coast Newspapers.
