San Francisco, CA – December 28, 2009 – Zephyr Real Estate has been a part of the San Francisco community for over 30 years. Since its inception, this company has had a commitment to giving back to the community and has actively participated in many worthwhile causes.
In 2002, Zephyr instituted the Golden Z Awards to honor members of its organization for distinguished service. This year, three agents have been added to the list of worthy recipients.
Eric Castongia displayed sheer determination when he began participating in AIDS Walk San Francisco, a 10-kilometer (6.2-mile) walkathon that benefits the San Francisco AIDS Foundation, in addition to several other local AIDS service organizations, including the UCSF AIDS Health Project and the Lesbian Health & Research Center at UCSF. What makes Castongia’s participation so remarkable is that it was his twenty-third consecutive annual walk. “Eric’s unflagging dedication to supporting AIDS awareness deserves special recognition,” stated Randall Kostick, Chief Operating Officer for Zephyr.
Harry Clark and Jan Medina have also performed very heroically in the AIDS/LifeCycle, a seven-day bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles. AIDS/LifeCycle is co-produced by the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center and the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and is designed to advance their shared interest to end the pandemic and human suffering caused by AIDS. The 545-mile ride requires serious discipline to train and undertake the task. Clark and Medina have done so, not just once, but a second time, knowing what the sacrifice will be. “Harry and Jan have accomplished an amazing milestone, and we are all very proud of them,” commented Kostick.
Only nine Golden Z awards have been presented since 2002. This year’s recipients bring that total to 12. With the commitment of Zephyr Real Estate and the dedication of its members, that number is sure to grow in the coming years.
