LAKE TAHOE, Nev., (Dec. 15, 2009) – Chase International is embracing the holiday spirit by giving food, gifts and plenty of sweets to U.S. soldiers and families in need. With eight offices in the Reno-Tahoe area and nearly 185 agents, Chase’s contributions will brighten the holidays for numerous soldiers, children and seniors.

Army Sergeant Sierra Harbison of Truckee is sharing a bounty of chocolate with her troops in Iraq, thanks to agents from the Tahoe City and Truckee offices. Janet Granum connected Harbison with Chase and when contacted, Harbison noted that chocolate was in high demand for the holidays. Harbison and her comrades have already received more than 34 pounds of sweets, cocoa, soups, sundries and beef jerky and have dubbed the care package the “Wonder Box.”

The Tahoe City office has also adopted local families through the Family Resource Center and Women’s Center in King’s Beach. “Adopting a family is a way to invest in our community,” Donna Caravelli said. “Those agencies do an incredible job of serving those who are less fortunate than we are.”

The South Lake Tahoe Women’s Center paired Chase’s Zephyr Cove office with a family in need. The office has been taking part in the program for more than five years and will provide gifts and food for the entire family. Agents from the Incline Village office will be providing holiday cheer for three seniors via the Parasol Foundation’s Adopt-a-Senior program. The group also participates in Toys for Tots and donated several turkeys for Thanksgiving.

Agents from the Chase International Office in Incline Village have adopted three senior citizens through the “Adopt a Senior Holiday Giving Program.” The agents selected three Angel ornaments from the giving tree that had special holiday wishes for each senior which included items ranging from winter coats, snow pants, snow boots and gift cards to favorite stores. Additionally, the Incline Village agents participated in both the annual Toys for Tots toy drive and Project MANA’s “Let’s Talk Turkey” Thanksgiving distribution which collected over 290 pounds of food including 15 turkeys.

A longtime supporter of the Tahoe Rim Trail, Chase International agents are sending out holiday cards presenting an opportunity for their clients to support the trail. The card features a color photo of the 165-mile trail encompassing Lake Tahoe. In addition to offering holiday greetings, the card shares pertinent trail facts and preservation information. This season, a group of 50 Chase agents have sponsored a mile of the trail by raising $5,000. They will be hiking the 165-mile loop in relay fashion in 2010.

Additionally, as members of the real estate association, LeadingRE, Chase International belongs to a sub group called NorCal composed of LeadingRE members in the Northern Calif/Nev. regions. The group is making a $500 contribution to each of three charities for the holiday season this month. Chase nominated the Food Bank of El Dorado County, and has just been informed that their choice was selected to receive the donation.
