In a meeting of the organisation held in Lisbon on 10 and 11 September 2009, José Ribes Bas was elected the new president of EREN, the European Real Estate Network. The CEO of Inmobiliaria Rimontgó replaces Giorgio Viganò of Giorgio Viganò S.a.S., who has been president of this prestigious association since its founding in November 2004.

RibesLeading innovators in the field of luxury real estate, the European Real Estate Network is a highly exclusive transatlantic association of 20 prominent agents from Europe and the US. Together, they represent important clients and the finest properties in Spain, Italy, Portugal, Switzerland, Austria, Greece, Denmark, Germany, the US and beyond.

Indeed, EREN is a truly international organisation representing the needs of the highly internationalised luxury property market. As a result, its members are also active in desirable locations and are very much at the forefront of developments in this market segment.

A firm believer in international marketing and cooperation between likeminded firms from across the world, José Ribes’ track record in the industry makes him an ideal candidate for the presidency of EREN. The CEO of Valencia-based Rimontgó has long been a champion of inter-regional business development, and his active role within the global sector is reflected in the many awards and important positions he holds.

“It is a great honour for me, to have been chosen to lead us in this journey into the future,” said Mr. Ribes. “You have entrusted me this position of responsibility and I will work hard for the good of EREN and of its members. Nothing enriches man more than being able to give. To be able to work to serve the interests of your businesses, of your employees and of your clients, means working for EREN. On top of this, to have been chosen by unanimous agreement adds a great satisfaction to an even greater responsibility.”

Ribes2“I would also like to give special thanks to Peter Marshall, for the constant support, professionalism and generosity with which he has served the group as the Third Member of the Executive Committee. He has been an important motivation to me, and it is with great privilege that I would like to thank him for continuing to work by my side, in his new position as Vice President. I welcome Marco Argentieri to the executive committee and thank him for his readiness and enthusiasm to serve EREN.”

“Finally, I would like to give tribute to the first President of EREN, Dre. Giorgio Viganò, to whom we all owe so much. Giorgio has been the driving force in the creation of EREN, and it has been a great privilege for us to have had him as our president and friend during the past five years. Dre. Giorgio Viganò is now Honorary Life President. His work and love for EREN are an inspiration and an example to all of us.”

“The past few years have been mostly about consolidation in tough market conditions, and now we can look at consolidating added value in our proposals to clients. The slowdown has served its purpose and let the steam out of overheated markets, setting them back on the path of healthy activity levels. I hope to make a positive contribution to this organisation, and look forward to working with my international colleagues and friends to continue our commitment to ever higher standards of professionalism, integrity and service.”
