The mother-daughter team known for listing the most expensive homes in Metro Detroit has left the Birmingham office of SKBK Sotheby's International Realty and joined Hall & Hunter Realtors as associate brokers.

Nanci Rands and her daughter, Meredith Rands Colburn will join the Birmingham-based real estate firm and continue their work in the niche of high-end residential real estate.

Rands said the move was based on a good opportunity and they left Sotheby’s on good terms. She also said the fact that Hall & Hunter is an affiliate of Christie’s Great Estates was a deciding factor. The New Mexico-based real estate company specializes in international luxury estates.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for us to go with a company which has a significant presence in the upper segment of the market,” Rands said.

The pair currently has 20 listings “significantly over” $1 million, Rands said, which will all follow them to Hall & Hunter.

Rands has been president of the Metropolitan Consolidated Association of Realtors and is a director of both the Michigan and the national associations of Realtors. She was also the first woman elected to the board of directors for the Franklin Hills Country Club.
