Prudential Gardner Realtors Hurricane Update(Mandeville, LA) - Thousands of residents of the New Orleans suburbs and the Mississippi Gulf Coast are returning home to a massive clean-up effort. The list of what they don't have is long -- starting with working electricity and sewers.

But in some neighborhoods, a few gas stations, coffee shops and burger joints have opened their doors for business. Officials gave the all-clear to return to Jefferson Parish last Sunday. On Monday, Mayor Ray Nagin said he wants to start letting people return to New Orleans, starting with the Algiers neighborhood, across the Mississippi River from downtown.

Prudential Gardner Realtors has opened 15 of its 27 offices and should be able to open another four before the week is out. Many of Prudential Gardner's sales associates are already hard at work helping some of those who lost their homes find new ones. Many of those dedicated sales associates lost their own homes but need an income to survive, so the act of rebuilding has become secondary to earning a living. Some of Prudential Gardner's sales associates are still unaccounted for; those that have not contacted the company are asked to call 1-800-392-7701 and check in. Southeast Louisiana and Southern Mississippi have a long road to recovery but already there is a feeling, by many, that we can and will come back stronger and better than before the disaster of Hurricane Katrina!
