SARASOTA, Florida—(June 4, 2009)— Two agents with Michael Saunders & Company, both representing the firm from its Longboat Key South office, have been elected incoming presidents of two of the major Rotary Club International chapters in Southwest Florida.

Ken Torrington will lead the Rotary Club of Sarasota while his company colleague, Klaus Lang, is the incoming president of the Rotary Club of Sarasota Keys.

Torrington is a twenty year veteran of Michael Saunders & Company. He has been with Rotary International for four years and will be installed as president on June 20, 2009 at a banquet at Marina Jack.

Lang, an agent with the company for the past seven years, has been a Rotarian since the early 1980’s and has belonged to clubs in Africa, Europe and Asia. His chapter, the Rotary Club of Sarasota Keys, will celebrate its 50th anniversary early next year during Lang’s term as president.

About Rotary International:

Rotary International is a worldwide organization of more than 1.2 million business, professional, and community leaders. Members of Rotary Clubs, known as Rotarians, provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. One of their ongoing causes is to eliminate polio from the face of the earth. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has just donated $355 million to Rotary International for the worldwide fight against polio, which Rotary International is matching with $200 million. There are 33,000 Rotary clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas. Clubs are nonpolitical, nonreligious, and open to all cultures, races, and creeds. As signified by the motto Service Above Self, Rotary’s main objective is service — in the community, in the workplace, and throughout the world.
