Multiple Offices to Support Lunch Break Pantry in Red Bank

MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ March 23, 2009–In these challenging economic times, charitable efforts are more vital and more appreciated than ever! In an effort to bring awareness to local community hunger problems, March is Food Collection Month for the Holmdel, Middletown and Manalapan/Freehold offices of Gloria Nilson GMAC Real Estate. These offices are currently collecting non-perishable food and requested items to help the non-profit organization Lunch Break for local residents in need.

Donations are appreciated all year long, which is why the company decided to continue their food drives throughout the year. Each quarter, participating Gloria Nilson GMAC Real Estate offices will dedicate one month to food collection. Non-perishable items can be dropped off daily during business hours at these locations. The deadline for current donations is March 31, 2009.

The items collected will be delivered to the pantry and distributed to families in need. Food donations will also be used to prepare meals through Lunch Break’s soup kitchen and senior take-outs, which feed hundreds of people throughout the month.

“With these troubled economic times, we don’t turn anyone in need away,” says Lunch Break Executive Director Gwendolyn Love. “We feed about 90 or so people a day, which is about a 25-percent increase over last year,” says Love. “We really appreciate having Gloria Nilson GMAC Real Estate help us out.”

Red Bank-based Lunch Break began in 1983 with 35 people who met to try to alleviate hunger in Monmouth County. The organization depends on donations to help it fulfill its mission. There are three staff members, who along with more than 400 volunteers operate a soup kitchen and food pantry daily from noon to 1 p.m. at 121 Dr. James Parker Blvd.

“Our company and all of our agents are dedicated to giving back to the communities we serve. With the efforts of these offices and our customer donations, we can all come together to help our community members,” says Pat Bell, president and CEO of Gloria Nilson GMAC Real Estate.
