Offers Pick Up & Delivery to Marin Food Bank, GoodStuff Thrift Store

San Francisco, CA – (November 11, 2008)– Pacific Union has long been known in the communities it serves as a firm that is committed to giving back and doing the right thing to help others. One Marin agent is taking this to the next level. Stephen Pringle in Pacific Union’s Greenbrae office is offering to help pick up and deliver donated food directly to the Marin Food Bank. He is also supports the GoodStuff thrift store in San Rafael.

“Helping feed families who are having a hard time making it in this economy seems to touch me the most,” said Pringle. “I am willing to pick up any item or be the drop off point for egg cartons and paper bags. I have a huge flat bed truck and I can come by and pick up items and drop them off at the thrift store. I’m also available to pick up items from clients’ homes if they need to get rid of stuff as they prepare their property for sale.”

The Marin Food Bank provides meals for nearly 3,000 people each month and that need is growing in the community. Food Bank donation boxes for non-perishable food are located in all West America Banks and some Safeway stores. There is also a donation box at GoodStuff thrift store located on the corner of 4th and G Street in San Rafael. Donations are also accepted at the warehouse location at 75 Digital Drive in Novato.

Favorite foods of the children are macaroni and cheese, green beans, peanut butter, jelly, canned chili, pretty much all easy-to-prepare, nutritious foods that the little ones will eat. Also needed are paper bags with handles to distribute the food, and egg cartons. Egg donations arrive in bulk, so egg cartons provide a safe and easy way to distribute the eggs.

Furniture, clothing, shoes, toys, books, CDs and many more items for donation are welcomed at the GoodStuff thrift store in San Rafael. The store is open seven days a week from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm.  Donations are accepted at the back door, in the parking lot behind the building off of G Street. Stephen Pringle can be reached at 415.720.7832 or springle@pacunion.com.
