ATLANTA – (Aug. 28, 2008) – Alice McDonough, an Atlanta residential real estate icon whose professional accomplishments include being named 2003 REALTOR® of the Year by the Atlanta Board of REALTORS® and serving a term as the organization’s president in 2004, has joined Beacham & Company, REALTORS® as a senior sales associate.Alice McDonough, an Atlanta real estate icon who has joined Beacham & Company, REALTORS.Beacham & Company founder Glennis Beacham called McDonough the “single most respected woman in Atlanta residential real estate.”“Alice McDonough exemplifies class and integrity,” Beacham said. “Her name carries tremendous cache throughout the agent community.“I am delighted to know that I can call upon Alice for advice and council as we continue to grow Beacham & Company into one of the premier boutique real estate companies in the country.”An Atlanta native who comes from a longtime real estate family, McDonough began her real estate career at Harry Norman, Realtors® in 1975 and went on to win some of the company’s most prestigious awards including the first annual President’s Award for outstanding community and professional service and the Miss Emmie Award for exhibiting the highest professional and ethical standards.A perennial sales leader, she received the Crystal Phoenix from the Atlanta Board of REALTORS® in the late 1990s. The Crystal Phoenix is awarded to agents who achieve Million Dollar Club status for 20 consecutive years. During her career, McDonough has listed or sold such outstanding properties as the former Robert Woodruff estate on Tuxedo Road, the former Fran Tarkenton home on Habersham Road, and the Jack Fraser home on Habersham Road.McDonough’s affinity for technology keeps her abreast of industry trends and she attends the National Association of REALTORS® convention and trade show every year. She has achieved numerous professional designations over the years including Senior Marketing Consultant (SMC), Accredited Relocation Specialist (ARS) and Certified Residential Specialist (CRS). She is also a graduate of the REALTOR® Institute.McDonough continues to serve on the board of directors for the Atlanta Board of REALTORS® in addition to a full slate of philanthropic endeavors. She is also serving her 16th year on the board of directors for Egleston Children’s Hospital and a six-year term on the national board of directors for The Children’s Miracle Network. In addition, she is a member of the Atlanta Historical Society, Atlanta Botanical Gardens, Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation, and High Museum of Art.
