HILTON HEAD/BLUFFTON, SC – Collins Group Realty was thrilled to award Lovable Paws Rescue as the winner of their 2020 Charity initiative, the 200th Home Sale for Charity, in August. The Lowcountry non-profit organization received $9,000 of the commission dollars from the real estate company’s 200th property sale in 2020.
A call for nominations of local non-profits went out in January. 106 area 501(c)(3) charities had been nominated by the end of February. The top three finalists having the most nominations were Pledge the Pink, MHA Island House and Loveable Paws Rescue. The public was encouraged to vote for their favorite of the top three finalists from March thru June.
Once the voting was complete and the 200th home sale was reached, Loveable Paws Rescue was announced as the grand prize winner, receiving the majority of the 3,065 votes. $9,000 was awarded to Lovable Paws Rescue.
All of the nominated charities were entered into a bonus lottery drawing for a $1,000 donation. The Children’s Relief Fund was the lucky recipient.
Lovable Paws Rescue is an all-volunteer run animal rescue located in Hardeeville. After receiving the check, Director, Steve Allen, said, “This will help with a number of dogs with medical cases, heartworm treatment, food, maintaining the building and with keeping everybody happy and keeping those adoptions coming in.”
