LAWRENCEVILLE, GA - Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Georgia Properties’ Suwanee/Duluth Office, celebrated ICU nurses and staff who have been treating those who have been suffering from COVID-19. By working with The Meal Bridge, an organization dedicated to supporting local businesses and hospitals, the office was able to provide meals for those working on the frontlines of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
“Gwinett Medical Center is the largest hospital in our county, and they do so much for the communities that we serve,” said Andy Willis, Senior Vice President and Managing Broker, Suwanee/Duluth Office. “Those in the healthcare industry are sacrificing so much for everyone, and I am so happy that my team and I were able to take the time to recognize their incredible work. We cannot thank them enough.”

The Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Georgia Properties’ Suwanee/Duluth team worked together in raising funds and was able to deliver over 50 meals to the hospital on National Nurses Week, Wednesday, May 6th. Organized by Marta Rodriguez, a real estate specialist for Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Georgia Properties, the Suwanee/Duluth Office worked with The Meal Bridge to not only provide food for the nurses but also support Smokin Gold BBQ, a local Gwinett County restaurant.
“Being able to witness the heroism displayed by our healthcare workers has been incredible,” said Marta Rodriguez. “I am so proud of the way that our office came together to support our community’s healthcare workers while also helping local businesses. I look forward to doing this again very soon.”
Smokin Gold BBQ owner Dan Dieterle and master chef Blake Mirring made and delivered the pulled pork BBQ plates to the hospital. Many Berkshire Hathaway associates were in attendance wearing masks and had posters in hand to show support to all of the ICU nurses and medical staff. The Lawrenceville Police Department also made an appearance to support the company’s efforts.
