What’s your favorite home trend right now? My favorite trend is actually an old 18th-century Japanese architectural technique called Shou Sugi Ban. It is a technique used to preserve wood by charring the surface with a hot flame. Contrary to popular belief, burning the wood actually enhances the wood’s durability and is a natural means of preserving it without the use of chemicals, paints or other surface treatments. It is naturally resistant to insect and moisture damage, making it perfect for exterior siding. More and more modern and contemporary homes are adopting this burned black siding which makes for absolutely stunning homes. My husband and I will be DIY’ing our Shou Sugi Ban siding on our home in Pine this summer. Give me a call if you want to come see what it’s all about! Elizabeth Daniels

What’s your goal in the next three months? My goal is to really get my name out there as the go-to consultant for anyone who has any real estate needs or questions in the Denver West and 285 corridor communities. Since moving from Denver to Pine, I have seen the exponential growth around us. I have seen the desire growing from people wanting more home for their money, more land for their families and all while having easy access to the city. Golden, Evergreen, Indian Hills, Morrison, Conifer and beyond, are becoming the Hollywood Hills of Colorado. I want to help people who are as excited about the potential of the area as I am.

What do you do for fun, outside of work? Since starting a gut renovation with my husband, most of my free time has gone to working on and building our dream home. We have terraced a portion of our land where we have planted over 100 grapevines. We have loved becoming students of the terroir and winemaking practices and hope to harvest this fall. Having our very first vintage of house wine! When I’m not trying to teach myself how to hawk and trowel Venetian Plaster, run radiant heat or trimming grapevines, I love riding motorcycles and shooting photographs. This combination has given me opportunities with different motorcycle companies to travel the world. Riding, photographing and empowering hundreds of women to live life limitlessly. Being a new motorcycle rider, like being a home buyer or seller, can be scary! As someone immersed in the culture and the community, I love making people feel comfortable and confident. Whether it’s riding a motorcycle, or involved in a real estate transaction, I am here to help.
