According to a new survey by the American Pet Products Manufacturers Association (APPMA), pet owners are spending more money on luxurious, high-end pet products than ever before, particularly for dogs. These results aren't surprising, says Bob Vetere, managing director and COO for APPMA. "Between baby boomers and couples commonly referred to as DINKS [Dual Income, No Kids] considering pets as children and having plenty of disposable income to spend on their pets, it's understandable to see growth in the higher-end, more expensive pet products."Thanks to an ever-growing number of specialty stores and Web sites devoted to luxury pet products, the sky's the limit when it comes to spoiling your pup. Following are some of the most extravagant--and in some cases, just plain over-the-top--products on the market.
