DENVER, CO – Urban community gardens are flourishing in Denver with 181 locally-operated community gardens and more on the way. Kentwood City Properties associates partnered with Denver Urban Gardens (DUG) for a volunteer workday, called “Dig in with DUG,” to help build a school-based garden at Slater Elementary School on Thursday, August 22.
“Partnering with Denver Urban Gardens is a special volunteering opportunity for us to get our hands dirty and beautify our local neighborhoods,” says Kentwood City Properties managing broker Aimee Twarogowski. “Constructing the new urban garden at Slater Elementary School offers not only a safe haven for school children to appreciate how produce is grown and harvested, but also a chance to beautify one of Denver’s up-and-coming neighborhoods of Crown Hill Park.”
