Kentwood Real EstateDENVER, CO – Urban community gardens are flourishing in Denver with 181 locally-operated community gardens and more on the way. Kentwood City Properties associates partnered with Denver Urban Gardens (DUG) for a volunteer workday, called “Dig in with DUG,” to help build a school-based garden at Slater Elementary School on Thursday, August 22.

“Partnering with Denver Urban Gardens is a special volunteering opportunity for us to get our hands dirty and beautify our local neighborhoods,” says Kentwood City Properties managing broker Aimee Twarogowski. “Constructing the new urban garden at Slater Elementary School offers not only a safe haven for school children to appreciate how produce is grown and harvested, but also a chance to beautify one of Denver’s up-and-coming neighborhoods of Crown Hill Park.”Kentwood City Properties Partnered with Denver Urban Gardens to Expand Community Gardens in the Denver Metro Area“We had a lot of fun together and the day exemplified the core concept in our Kentwood company purpose: Kentwood is built on the foundation of supporting local community. Community service is the best way to build local communities and urban garden projects are fantastic opportunities for service,” says Kentwood Real Estate President/CEO Gretchen Rosenberg.
