SAVANNAH, Ga. – (June 2, 2008) – Betsy Howard, a sales associate with
Cora Bett Thomas Realty & Associates, recently competed in the Boston Marathon on April 21, 2008, in Boston, Mass.
Our Georgia girl completed the 26.2-mile course in an impressive 3 hours and 48 minutes. Howard fondly remembers the Boston supporters that cheered on more than 25,000 runners in the 112th annual Patriot’s Day race. She credits her momentum throughout the race and final push at the end to the deafening support of local Bostonians, Wellesley College students, and her husband, who she saw cheering her on in a crucial leg of the race.Howard considered the weekend to be a “pay day” for all of her hard work and training over the years. She felt honored to be apart of such a talented group of runners who had to qualify in a previous race to run in the Marathon. The day before Howard watched the best athletes in our nation compete in the Women’s Track Olympic Trials.Howard continues to train with the running group that she met through Fleet Feet and plans on running a half marathon in the fall. The future plans for this lifelong athlete include competing in a triathlon and possibly a ½ Iron Man.
