But the Luxury Real Estate Blog is fairly new and we’re building it up to the heights of our main Web site. We owe much of our success to Jim Walberg, John Brian Losh and many other bloggers who consistently contribute their fun work

Jul 29, 2008

By Jim Johnson From his blog: Move to Bend Oregon for the Music One of the reasons people are buying homes in Bend, Oregon is the music. The Les Schwab Amphitheater is where a lot of that music happens. It is a beautiful outdoor riverfront amphitheater built in the historic Old Mill District in 2001. The amphitheater was named in honor of a remarkable Central Oregonian, Les Schwab.

Positioning is critical for long-term success

Jul 29, 2008

By Jean-Yves Piton The classic marketing mix, with its 4 Ps (Product, Price, Promotion and Place), is evolving to meet current global business needs. It now includes 3 more Ps: Positioning, Packaging and People. Keep in mind that Positioning should not be confused with Promotion. Although advertising efforts are inherently part of both Promotion and Positioning, the latter P mainly focuses on your competitive position within the marketplace and image amongst consumers.

Philosophy of capturing leads: To capture or not

Jul 25, 2008

By Brian Langhorst LuxuryRealEstate.com is the most-viewed and most-visited luxury real estate website in the world. For this reason we opt not to capture the visitors of our website right away to search properties around the world. We realize many of our visitors are of very high net worth and have very limited time, thus the idea of creating restrictions does not make sense. On the other hand, I see many websites who capture their visitor traffic right away.

She works closely with The Wall Street Journal, Unique Homes and a variety of other publications to help luxury brokers gain domestic and international exposure for their properties. It’s funny, but I just read in another website, called Asiaing.com, that LuxuryRealEstate.com Magazine came out today. Very cool!

Photos should enhance your luxury properties

Jul 25, 2008

By Janice Ridge There are studies that indicate that both buyers and their agents are attracted to online listings that include photos. In fact, when I am searching MLS for a property for a client, I won’t even look at a listing that doesn’t have photos! And I am a real-estate professional! Truth is, most MLS photos are not that good. That’s why most real estate professionals go directly to the agent’s website to see better photos. I imagine the online consumer does, too.
