ATLANTA, GEORGIA — At precisely 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, November 8th, the historic Randolph-Lucas house began its journey down Peachtree Road, a feat two years in the making for owners Christopher Jones and Roger Smith. The pair searched at-length for a historic house in need of restoration for over two years with the help of Harry Norman, REALTOR® Carolyn Calloway, and eventually found the Randolph-Lucas house, designed by famed architect Thornton Marye. Upon discovering the Randolph-Lucas mansion, the team worked for a year alongside the owners of the Condo’s at 2500 Peachtree, the City of Atlanta, and the Buckhead Heritage Society to organize, plan, and obtain the numerous permits required before the historic landmark structure was able to begin its move down Atlanta’s most renowned boulevard – Peachtree Road. Despite the challenges throughout that year, the team never gave up on their dream of saving this Georgian Revival mansion and relocating it to Ansley Park, a neighborhood home to other Marye-designed structures.
