Nestled in complete privacy, surrounded by lush bamboo landscaping is ‘The House on Turtle Mountain’ a perfect blend of traditional Japanese elegance with modern comfort. This elegant home, bordering Kamakura Park, is amidst an expansive bamboo forest and beautiful rock gardens with bubbling brooks, ponds and waterfalls, radiating continuous peace and serenity.
There are 6 customary Japanese style rooms, divided by partitions formed with special fusuma, shoji and tatami --a modern Western design flows throughout the kitchen, bathroom, family room and guest room making this spiritual sanctuary a place of comfort and simplistic luxury…A fine example of true traditional Japanese architecture!
This property was originally "The Tsukiji Rantei House" in Tokyo, which was formerly a Japanese restaurant modeled from a famous old house in the Mino District [now the southern part of Gifu Prefecture]. It is a large wooden building of historical interest. In 1988, it was disassembled to allow redevelopment of the area and later relocated from Tokyo to a low hill in Ito-shi, Shizuoka-ken, on land that was once owned by the captain of the battleship Yamato, and thereafter came into the possession of the president of a famous Japanese University. This site now lies in a high-class summerhouse area of the Izu District.
In 2001, the three original guest rooms of "The Tsukiji Rantei House" were relocated from Ito to Kita Kamakura. The three rooms that formed the most characteristic parts of the former Rantei House were assembled in the cement frame structure of the former villa in Kita Kamakura. The wooden members used in the rooms were made from select wood stocks, and the building’s architectural design, unlike that of ordinary restaurants, was tastefully characterized and refined.
Turtle Mountain is a sense of peace, calm and relaxation. This prestigious property is built on the back of a large rock symbolizing a turtle, a symbol of good fortune.
According to the visit by Feng Shuei Master Ryuji Mido, Turtle Mountain is “a comfortable environment with good land and good energy.” Offered at ¥750 million (Japanese Yen)
