Attractions
The Hudson River
The seven lighthouses along the Hudson River remind visitors of the important role the river played as commercial waterway following the opening of the Erie Canal. Preservation groups have restored and maintain
these maritime treasures, which have become living museums. A Hudson River cruise is a great way to see the lighthouses and the rest of the river.
DeWint House
This restored house, built in 1700, served as Washington's headquarters during the espionage trial of British Major John Andre.
Stony Point Battlefield

Van Riper-Hopper Historic House Museum
Built in 1786 by Uriah Van Riper for his bride Maria (Polly) Berdan, this New Jersey Dutch Colonial house offers a rare walk back in time. The farmstead includes a historical herb garden, archeology laboratory and
Albert Payson Terhune Collection. Five lower rooms contain furniture representing different periods. Several artifacts make it easy to imagine succeeding generations living in the house until it was acquired by Wayne
Township. Located on its original site, the museum represents the agricultural society that dominated Wayne for over 200 years. This historic house is on the state and national register.

Haverstraw Brick Museum
Haverstraw in Rockland County was once a major brickmaking source. Many buildings in New York City are made with bricks manufactured in Haverstraw. The mission of the Haverstraw Brick Museum is to
collect, preserve, research and exhibit materials and cultures of the brickmaking industry within the Hudson River Valley.
