ATLANTA, GA – Harry Norman, REALTORS® was thrilled to sponsor the 11th annual Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless Back to School Jamboree 2015.
Our dedicated staff, brokers and sales agents collected over 320 backpacks filled with school supplies during the Harry Norman, REALTORS®' Backpack Challenge for Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless. The backpacks contained much needed school items for students including pencils, erasers, crayons, calculators, index cards, folders and so much more. Our wonderful agents and staff also donated an abundance of toiletries and toys for the children as well as monetary contributions.
All of the backpacks and other items were presented to several hundred children and their parents as they lined up as early as 5:00 a.m. to register their children, this past Sunday, July 12th at the Turner Field blue parking lot. By 10:00 a.m., the line stretched halfway around the parking lot as eager parents waited in the hot sun to receive the school supplies for their children. Celebrity ambassadors and dedicated volunteers came to serve over 2200 students preparing to go back to school in the fall. The organization even surprised attendees with unexpected computer giveaways.
Hosea Feed the Hungry also provided health screenings, eye exams, food and clothes for the children to help prepare for the upcoming school year. A spokesperson for the organization said the generous sponsors, ambassadors, media, volunteers and staff made the day magical.
