ATLANTA, GA - Beacham & Company, REALTORS® finished 2014 with a record-setting December as both sales and dollar volume sold were up 38% compared to December 2013. December was so strong in fact that the firm bested its previous December record for dollar volume sold by more than $12 million.
The December surge helped Beacham & Company notch its eighth consecutive year of double-digit sales growth. The number of homes sold by Beacham agents was up 14.6% in 2014 compared to 2013. The firm also set 16 new monthly sales records for either units sold or dollar volume sold in 2014.
Dac Carver, Vice President and Managing Broker of Beacham & Company, said the firm’s 2014 success is all the more impressive given that Atlanta home sales are likely to barely eke out a gain for 2014 when all sales are tallied by the local MLS later this month. In fact, in the eight years since Beacham & Company was founded in November 2006, the number of home sales in Atlanta declined from the previous year in six of those eight years (2011 and, presumably, 2014 were the exceptions).
Margaret Harman’s sale of 551 Spring Valley Road in the Collier Hills area of Buckhead (listed at $629,000) was part of a historic December for Beacham & Company, REALTORS®.

Carver admitted however that even as the firm enjoys the accomplishments of 2014, his thoughts and those of many agents are already on 2015.
“As a group, we are more excited about the prospects for the real estate market in 2015 than any year since the company was founded, maybe even since the early 2000s,” Carver said. “Housing inventory is on the rise which should facilitate transaction growth. Home prices are moderating so more first-time buyers should be able to participate in the market. The economy is in the best shape in more than a decade and here in Georgia there are more people employed than at any other time in the history of the state. Interest rates are still very, very low and credit is becoming easier and easier to obtain. Clearly, the fundamentals are all in place for a fantastic year.”
