1418064776BEVERLY HILLS, CA - Every year during the holiday season, Teles Properties agents participate in a range of community service projects that include feeding the community and leading clothing and toy drives for local families. The Press Room reached out to Teles offices to find out what agents were doing for the Thanksgiving holiday. The responses they received show how many opportunities there are to help those in need.

Lauren Cotner, Redondo Beach

“I did a food drive in my community. I dropped off approximately 100 bags in my neighborhood and got 25 back filled. The bags went to St. Lawrence Martyrs Catholic Church in Redondo Beach. They feed over 200 families, three days a week. It’s a great outreach and I am a firm believer that our children should not go hungry!”

Melea Johnston-Avrach, Pasadena

“My friends and family and I have a tradition of giving out food to the homeless on Thanksgiving Day. I’m also looking forward to helping put up lights on Christmas Tree Lane in Altadena.”

Richard Leavitt, Laguna Beach

“For the past three years, I have been a part of the organization Westside Thanksgiving which organizes a huge dinner for over 5,000 veterans. We provide a meal as well as clothing, haircuts and other necessities. This year it is being held at the Veterans Administration in Westwood. Anyone can volunteer or donate, find out how here.”

Fatima Malik, Beverly Hills

“I will be at Temple Beth Hillel for The Temple Beth Hillel Brotherhood Thanksgiving Feast in partnership with the Muslims for Progressive Values. I will be starting bright and early at 8:30 am on Thanksgiving morning. Last year, they fed hundreds of needy families and the homeless and we hope to do the same this year!”

Debbie Marie, Newport Beach

“This Saturday, I will be volunteering at the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. They are a great resource for the more than 277,000 people who require food assistance in Orange County.”

Naomi Selick, Beverly Hills

“Here is a photo of me and my 15 year old son, Jacob, cooking for Project Chicken Soup; an organization that delivers over 100 kosher meals every week to homebound people struggling with HIV and cancer. That day we made 60 pounds of cranberry sauce alone for the Thanksgiving meals!”
